Rain Cancels Friday Races at Claremont
CLAREMONT, N.H. – Rain forced the cancellation of racing Friday, June 3, at Claremont Motorsports Park. It was the second week in a row that Friday night racing was washed away at the third-mile oval.
Friday’s postponement of the scheduled Racers Honoring Racers 100-lap Tour-Type Modified race has moved the prestigious $15,000-to-win event to Friday, August 12, when it will be contested on a huge night of racing along with the Granite State Pro Stock Series and five house divisions of competition.
CMP will return to action next Friday, with the annual running of the 35-lap Mike Richardson Sr. Memorial 35-lap Late Model Sportsman Race atop a five-division card of racing.
Ricky Bly leads the Route 103 Auto/Heads Up Motorsports LMS division through six completed events this season with four wins and sits atop the points parade, 20 markers ahead of defending LMS champ Ben Poland, 294-274, but Poland will bring a two-victory winning streak into Friday’s 35-lapper, where Cam Curtis, Ryan Bell, Craig Smith, Jack McClay and company will be out to halt Poland and Bly’s early-season success.
Friday night’s event will mark the new summer starting time at the Thrasher Road speedplant, with qualifying going green at 7:30 p.m. For more information on this and all other CMP events, please visit www.claremontmotorsportspark.com.
