DOLLIVER TOPS STREET STOCK BIGGIE  FRIDAY AT CLAREMONT

CLAREMONT, N.H.- Mad Max Dolliver won the 50-lap NHSTRA Battle For The Belt Street Stock feature Friday at Claremont Motorsports Park. The Londonderry, N.H. hot shoe led all the way to capture the night’s main event.

Jimmy Renfrew Jr. appeared to have won his fourth CMP feature of the summer, passing Dolliver on lap 20 and then dashing off to the checkers, but didn’t fare as well in the post-race tech line, forfeiting not only Friday’s win but also valuable Belt Race points in the multi-track series.

Hometrack kingpin Dave Greenslit took second from Robert Hagar on lap 40 and followed Dolliver under the checkers, with Cody Schoolcraft, Chris Riendeau, and Hagar rounding out the top five as the CMP regulars strutted their stuff.

While the Street Stock finish was unofficial pending the post-race tech results at the end of the night, what was very official was Ben Poland’s third consecutive Late Model Sportsman feature win, the hat trick victory moving him to the top of the points parade.

Also victorious on the eleventh week of the 2021 racing season were Nick Houle, who made it two in a row in the Pure Stocks, and Dustin Thibodeau who won his track-high ninth feature of the summer but still ended the night two points behind hyper-consistent Robert Shaw.

Poland attributed part of Friday’s LMS win to great brakes. With Ryan Bell, Ricky Bly, and Poland running nose-to-tail on lap seven of their 25-lap feature, a spinning backmarker took out both Bell and Bly, with Poland somehow escaping the madness to inherit the point back under green.

Once at the front, the Charlestown star checked out on the field, romping to his fifth overall win of the summer far ahead of Jack McClay and Cam Curtis. Bly came back from the early mayhem to finish sixth.

Carlos Grenier led the first 15 go-rounds of the Pure Stock feature but then wobbled in turn two as former track champ Kyle Templeton thundered past him. Nick Houle was quickly up to second and, five laps later, had the lead.

While nobody would catch the speedy Houle, Templeton completed his best run of the summer strongly in second, holding off Nolan McClay to earn runner-up honors in the 21-car field.

Dustin Thibodeau took charge in the Six Shooter 20-lapper and drove off into his own time zone to win for the ninth time this summer. Robert Shaw was caught up in an opening lap jingle but recovered to finish second and hold onto his points lead. Bucky Thibodeau followed his brother and Shaw into trophy row.

Renee Biggins topped a light field of Granite State Mini Cup racers. Shelby Kirk took the checkers in second.

Jacob MacIntyre won the Claremont Karting Series Tiger A event, taking the Friday checkers ahead of Ashton Stoddard and Anna Cass. The Karting Series competes every Sunday at the CMP complex.

Jessie Webster, aboard a Beamer, topped the Spectator Drags, while Dallas Trombley won the 13-car, 15-lap, show-closing Spectator Race in his Infinity. It was Trombley’s second CMP victory this summer. He won the track’s opening night Late Model Sportsman feature too,

Friday’s big Fan Appreciation Night event was the first of two weekend racing meets at the storied third-mile oval. The Granite State Pro Stock Series was set to headline a huge card of racing on Saturday, July 31.
